How Seats Work

The number of seats on the license controls the number of people who can be logged in to your database at the same time. A five seat license allows five people (any five of your users) to be logged in.

To be clear, the license doesn't restrict the number of users you can have -- it restricts how many of them can log in at the same time. So if you have 10 users, but only 5 will ever log in at the same time, you'll need five seats on the license, not ten.

Also, remember that the license itself counts as one seat, so in this example you would need to purchase four additional seats to bring the total to five.
